Lovely Afternoon

Hello everybody

I have had a lovely afternoon as I spent it with my darling granddaughter Nicole and great granddaughter Darcy this was after I had some bad news my eye sight in my left eye has seriously deteriorated to the point that when you cover my right eye I cannot see very much at all out of my left  and the right eye has developed a cataract.  I am going to have to have some new glasses which is going to cost around £250 - £300.00, hopefully this will not affect my crafting too much.

I made a card yesterday using a sketch I found from Lili of the Valley, sorry I did not get around to commenting on all your lovely makes yesterday but Sarah stayed for dinner and then did not leave until nearly bedtime, hopefully I will be able to get out here properly to do some commenting after dinner tonight.

Sorry the picture is a bit faint but the light in my craft room is not good as the sun is shining directly onto the area where I take the photo's of my cards.  I used green glitter on her tail to make it stand out

Bye for now

Pretty in blue

Afternoon Everybody

I am waiting for Sarah our darling daughter to come over so we can have a play together, I want to go to the Range and get some oil cloth to make a table cloth for the kitchen as I am fed up of washing the cotton one's I made, at least with oil cloth you only need to wipe them down.

I have sorted some drawer space out by making boxes and then putting flowers in them by separating the colours so I can see what I have in stock.   As you can see I have loads of white and pink flowers so think I need to buy some other colours.

Drawer 2

Drawer 3

The card I have made today is pretty in blue I die cut the swirls, leaves and butterfly along with the edges of the card which I distressed, the papers came from one of the Crafter's Companion CD's which I use a lot to get my background papers cheaper than buying them.  The flowers are from The Ribbon Girl and there we have it.

Will pop by shortly to comment on your wonderful makes.

Bye for now

Fantastic Day

Afternoon Everybody

How are you all?  I had a fantastic day out with my buddy Dorne at the Malvern Quilt Festival bought lots of goodies, Big Shot Plus, with three dies, fabric to make our daughter Sarah some cushion covers, basics like more pins, bobbins, ribbon and I came back with some money don't ask me how but I did.

Am shattered today and am resting as my back is killing me from all the sitting on the coach left home at 8am arrived home at 8.15pm so a long day slept like a baby last night lol x

Anyway enough of all that lets get on with my make which I made on Friday evening.  I embossed cardstock slightly smaller than 6x6 then used a die to cut out the shape and stamped happy birthday directly on to my 6x6 cardstock, made the flowers using my heartfelt creations lily stamps and dies coloured in with sea breeze dewdrop versa magic chalk ink, shaped and then put onto the side of the card also used some leaf dies that I had to create some contrast.  Hope you like it.

Am off now to do some commenting

I have today two cards to showcase which I made on Wednesday

Two fairly simple cards really.

Well will catch up with you all later, am off to sort meat out for dinner tonight.

Exciting News

Morning all

I have some exciting news to share with you, there is a new challenge blog and I have been invited to join and I am so excited as this will push my boundaries even more than ever as it is a Mixed Media Challenge and I have never really tried anything like this before.  We do not start running until the 25th June, but the blog is up and running

I had made a card that I was going to post today but I was so excited that I decided to try my hand at a mixed media card, honest opinions please.

Sorry the photo is not very good but the bottom of the dress is made with some netting that I bought ages ago in a roll very pretty and shiny but not very good for photo's lol

Orange background card stock, Paper from a Crafter's Companion CD, die cut I have had cut out for ages, seed beads that came free with a magazine, String, flowers from stash, pegs from stash.  the little metal butterfly was a charm which I have cut the hoop off.

well that's it from me at the moment as I am making a beef casserole and need to go and give it a good stir.

Love to all

No Sentiment

Morning all

How are you?  We have had heavy rain here this morning, but the sun has just come out to play so hopefully he's here to stay.

My card today is from a CD by Polkadoodles and is called Magic Garden, I also bought the stamp set that goes with it.

The flower at the top of the card is from the CD and I cut it out three times and then used my (ball thingy) can't remember the name to shape it.

I will pop by later today after I have been to the Coffee Stop in the Village Hall, we are also having a plant sale, not that I can fit any more into my garden lol x

Catch up with you all this afternoon.

Mr Frogie went a courting

Morning all

Thought I would show you the card I made with some of the goodies from the Sincerely Yours craft fair held in Plymouth on Sunday, I do hope it was a success for them and that they will be coming back.

This is from the Fiddle'n Frog range that is stamps and dies to match but I found when I got home that I had not bought the water lily stamp set that goes with the dies to make the flowers, but they have been ordered now, as I just coloured the flowers that I had cut out with the die.

I am not very good at colouring using alcohol pens in any shape or form but give me my pencils and I am marginally better, not too bad at using distress inks.

I coloured the background in with Distress inks
  • Stormy Sky
  • Wild Honey
  • Forest Moss
I then stamped the image straight onto the card and coloured in using my Promarkers, Crafters Companion Sparkly Pens, to do the lily pads and then stamped the sentiment straight onto the card and in case you can't read it; it says You're Toadally Awesome!

Finally here is the card I made.

Sorry I did not get around catching up on you all yesterday, but I will be back soon when I have finished making three lots of soap, Black Cardamom, Lemon Lime and Eucalyptus and finally Lavender which will take me about 5 hours.

Love Alison
